Meet Madison Howard

I’m Madison Howard—a wife, a mother to the purest boys on Earth, and a woman deeply committed to redefining how we teach and talk about sex education. For over a decade, I worked in the mental health field as a Behavioral Health Case Manager II, a 988 Mobile Crisis Team member, a Functional Family Therapist, and a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Psychology and completed over 9,500 clinical hours across graduate training and post-graduate practice.

In the summer of 2024, I made a decision that, to the outside world, looked like quitting: I stepped away from completing the final 500 hours required for full licensure as an LPC in Oklahoma. I was so close. But for the first time, I truly listened to myself—and realized that finishing the path I had started wasn’t the same as following the one I was meant for.

That moment—where I chose self-trust over societal expectation—is what gave birth to Rooted Workshops.I

Most mental health professionals receive little to no training in sexuality—and fewer still seek it out. I chose a different path.

I became a Certified Sexuality Educator because I believe sex education should be shame-free, age-appropriate, trauma-informed, and rooted in reality. It should empower children to understand their bodies, give teens the tools to protect their self-worth, and help parents communicate openly and confidently. I’ve taken everything I learned across ten years of therapy work and combined it with what I know as a mother, survivor, and educator to create something real.

I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse—as well as emotional and physical trauma. The word “survivor” never felt quite right because, like many children, I didn’t have a choice. But as I grew older, I realized that healing is a choice—and one that many people don’t know how to access. That’s why Rooted Workshops isn’t just about education—it’s about transformation.
